Are You Ready for the 1st Practice?

What you need for the 1^st practice

Paperwork

- Physical - no more than a year old (if you participated in another school sport this school year your physical is still good and on file in the office).

- Activities Release - this is the back page of the orange packet with all the rules for athletes. You and your parents need to sign and date it (if you participated in another school sport this school year your activities release is on file in the office).

- Emergency Card - this is the small card with emergency numbers and instructions (even if you participated in another sport you should fill-out another emergency card).

- Proof of Insurance - you have to complete the insurance information on your emergency card, if you do not have insurance you will need to purchase some. Insurance through the school district would be your best bet.

Grades

- You need to have passed 6 classes (D or above) last semester and you need to maintain a D average or higher in 6 of your current classes. All possible soccer players will have their grades checked between now and the start of the season. If you do not have satisfactory grades, the coaching staff will try to inform you before the first practice.

Equipment

V - Shin guards - all players must have shin guards on during practice. No exceptions!

V - Soccer cleats and indoor soccer shoes - Cleats if we are able to practice outside. Indoor soccer shoes if we have to practice indoors. If you don’t have indoor soccer shoes then a good pair of tennis shoes will suffice.

V - Clothing - be prepared for hot, warm, cool, freezing dry and wet weather when preparing for practice.

V - Water - We may practice the first day where there is not water available.

Date, Time and Location

- The 1^st practice will take place on Monday March 8^th.

- The 1^st practice will be held at 4:00pm - 6:00pm

- The 1^st practice will be held at White Mountain Elementary Football Field, meet on the football field. If it is bad weather we will practice inside at White Mountain Elementary

RS Plays Better But Wolves Prevail

On Thursday at Crossroads Park in Rock Springs the RS Tigers faced their arch rivals the GR Wolves in the second leg of the Sweetwater Cup. The Tigers were looking to avenge their earlier embarrassing defeat by upsetting the Wolves. This match was a classic rivalry match and saw the Tigers come to play for 80 minutes. However the Wolves got on the board first when the initial GR shot was saved by Gus Wagner but the deflection found a Wolves' feet and he scored in the 19th minute of play. This was the only score in the first half. The Tigers did see a couple of legitimate chances in the first 40 minutes of play including a header by Alex Arambel. The Tigers game plan seemed to be working as the heavily favored Wolves were frustrated in the 2nd half by the improved play of the Tigers. Then Green River sealed their win by two goal, one in the 61st minute and the other in the 69th minute. Tigers Wrap up Regular Season with a Victory

On Saturday in Rock Springs the Tigers wrapped up their regular seaso n and recognized their soon to be graduating seniors when they played host to the Star Valley Braves. The majority of the match was dominated in play by the Tigers. However, Rock Springs just seemed to not find the scoring touch. The Tigers finally found the back of the next in the 38th minute when an Erick Mata cross found Matt Lehman on the back post and Lehman headed it in. The score stood at 1 to 0 at the half in favor of the Tigers. The second half saw the Tigers get more aggressive on the offensive third and this half the Tigers chances all seemed to find their mark. Goals came in the 55th, 67th, 71st and 76th minute. The goal scorers were Storie Ratcliff twice, Tevin Beaver and Luke Aust. Assisting on the goals were Gilbert Gonzalez, Garrett Hay and Storie Ratcliff.
