Tigers Drop Two in the Capitol City

On Saturday the varsity Tigers played both the Cheyenne Central Indians and the Cheyenne East Thunderbirds . In the first game the Tigers were handled by the Indians 3 to 0. They were down 1 to 0 at the half and struggled to find offense throughout the entire game. In the second full 80 minute game of the day, the Tigers fell to the T-birds 3 to 2. East got on the board first, the Tigers answered with a goal by Austin Mivshek from a free kick by Gilbert Gonzalez. East was able to get another score before the half was over and lead 2 to 1 at the break. The Tigers looked a lot better in the second game but allowed another East goal to go down 3 to 1. Ron Halstead got a hit on the ball in the closing seconds from a free kick from Kevin Gold to pull the Tigers closer at 3 to 2. The Tigers missed some genuine scoring chances in this game including a half field shot from Kevin Gold that hit the crossbar. JV Tigers Demolish the Wolves

On Tuesday the junior varsity Tiger team started the scoring against the wolves early and beat their rivals easily. The Tigers had a 5 - 0 half time lead and added 2 more goals in the second half to win 7 - 2. The Tiger scorers were; Christian Mendoza (3 goals), Pat Walker, Wes Padilla, Jorge Ramirez and Tyler Schmill. In the net for Rock Springs was Tyler Hamilton for the first half and Kortny Lancaster in the second half. JV Tigers - 1 - 0 - 1 Up Next for the JV at Natrona and Kelly Walsh on Friday April 4th and Saturday April 5th.

Tigers Tie Three Times in Riverton

Both the JV and the Varsity teams left Riverton with only ties on their record. The JV team played first against Riverton . Up 1 - 0 at half the tigers had to score in the closing minutes to tie the game. Storie Ratcliff scored both goals for the young tigers. The Varsity team also played Riverton in their first game and played to a well deserved 0 - 0 tie. Shortly after the first game the varsity team played an old conference opponent, Jackson. Rock Springs took a 1 - 0 lead into the half after a 50 yard score from defender Kyle Howe off of a free kick. The defense played well but conceded a goal with about 5 minutes left to end in another tie. The following players made their first varsity start this weekend and performed well; Dane Dulaney , Wes Magagna , Cody Rall and Erik Mata. Several other players saw their first varsity action such as Matt Lehman, Charlie Barnum, Jesus Ramirez and Pat Walker.
