Tigers End Season at 1st Game at Regionals

On Thursday in Casper the Tigers of Rock Springs
played against the Braves of Star Valley. This was a re-match of a game less than a week ago in Afton. This time the Tigers played so much better than the previous time. The first half was scoreless but saw the Tigers have some genuine chances on frame including Riley Yerkovich's shot. But the score would remain zero to zero after 40 minutes.
In the second half the Tigers took more control of the match playing the majority of it in the attacking side of the field. But the match changed with just 7 minutes left when off of a rebound from the crossbar a Star Valley player kicked the ball into the net and broke the scoreless tie. The Tigers rallied in the final 7 minutes to try to find the equalizing goal but it was not to be. The Tigers lost in the elimination match to the Braves by a score of 1 to 0 and thus ended their season on the field at Natrona County High School. This was a difficult season in many ways for the Tigers who struggled to a 4 - 10 - 1 record and a 4th place finish in their conference.
The seniors on the team will be missed we would like to thank them; Camilo Anturi, Luke Aust, Matt Lehman, Jesse Love and Riley Yerkovich. The majority of this team should be able to return and reclaim Rock Spring's rightful place among the best programs in the state of Wyoming.
