Mustangs Beat the Tigers

On Friday in Rock Springs the Tigers hosted the Natrona County Mustangs in a 4a West soccer battle. The conditions for the math were snowy at the start and sloppy at the end of the match. The Mustangs got off to an early start with a goal in the 6th minute. The goal was from a corner kick where the ball seemed to bounce and ricochet off of several players on both teams before it went in. The second goal for the Mustangs was in the 33rd minute when a shot was placed in the corner on the ground of the goal and Tyler Wilkinson was not able to stop it. The half time score was 2 - 0. The Tigers were out of sync all game long connecting passes and getting involved in the offense. The last goal of the match was scored in the 46th minute when Gus Wagner had knocked the ball away and hit a Tiger defender and then carried into the goal for an own goal. The Tigers played without leading scorer Storie Ratcliff who is sidelined with an ankle injury for a little while. The final score was NC 3 and Rock Springs 0. The loss drops the Tigers to 2 - 5 - 0 in the 4A West conference and 3 - 7 - 1 overall.
