On Monday in Rock Springs the RS Tigers and the NC Mustangs battled for the top of the 4A West Conference. It was a very close and physical game. It saw both teams have chances in the first half but both go into halftime scoreless. The Mustangs got the lone goal in the match in the 55th minute. This goal ended a 3 and 1/2 match stretch where the Tigers had not been scored on by their opponents. Even with some legitimate chances late in the second half the Mustangs were able to hang onto the win. This places NC currently at the top of the conference and the Tigers tied with Green River for second place. The Varsity record falls to 4 - 3 - 0 and 3 - 1 - 0 in conference. The Man of the Match; Luke Aust (superb play as always).
Earlier in the afternoon the JV Tigers scored twice in the first half against the young Mustangs and survived an own goal to defeat NC by a score of 2 to 1. The JV Tigers record is currently 5 - 1 - 1.
