Tigers fall apart at first round game at State

On Thursday the Tigers, with great hopes, came out and played a great first 14 minutes against Cheyenne Central. The Indians scored in the fourteenth minute on a free kick to take a one goal lead. From there the Indians did not look back scoring another 4 goals in a 12 minute span. The Indians scored once more before the half to take a commanding six to zero lead into the break.  The second half was a little more even in play as both teams subbed frequently, with the Indians only scoring once and the Tigers scoring their lone goal in the 73rd minute. The goal came from Erik Stembridge from a Gilbert Gonzalez corner kick. After the disappointing lose the Tigers need to regroup and play tomorrow. The best the Tigers can do is the Consolation Championship (5th place) at state after the first round loss.  The Tigers play their rivals the Green River Wolves tomorrow at 2:00 pm in Laramie for a chance to play for 5th place on Saturday. Varsity overall record (8 - 7 - 3)
